Today is the second day of the DRAGON consortium meeting. This was the first face to face meeting for DRAGON. That’s the reality when you have an project that was put together and funded as an emergency project to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of our role in the IMI project imSAVAR, we along with other partners convened a patient stakeholder workshop.

The focus was on the patient perspective on preclinical safety testing. This was a challenging topic. When we asked around no one could give us an example where the patient perspective was used in such an early phase of the drug development process. We forged ahead anyway.

The BREATH consortium is a collaborative venture funded by the Netherlands Lung Foundation. It aims to move the translational science of lung regeneration forward. A member of the consortium Ed Morrisey recently published an extensive piece of research in which a new type of lung cell, Respiratory airway secretory cells (RASC) were identified.

The IMI funded project T2EVOLVE is building and ecosystem for engineered cell therapy. Tech scans with external stakeholders are beginning to make that a reality.

The IMI project DRAGON is organizing a future scenario planning exercise for future pandemics….

The ERS SHARP CRC has established a federated analysis platform for real-world data on severe asthma which brings together data from 28 different countries helping not only to drive collaborative innovation, it helps drive the harmonisation of the best practices in asthma care.

Exploration of the dataset has become an engine for collaboration in the U-BIOPRED Alliance. We are looking to expand the membership of the Alliance.
